There's a Bug Going Around by onewing

There's a Bug Going Around

It is the first day of Spring today and it has been so cold, only reached 14 degrees C. Apparently 25 degrees is forecast for Sunday so maybe Spring is arriving a few days late.

Thanks so much for all your lovely comments on yesterday's African Daisy shot and for putting it on the PP.

While I was taking that photo I spotted this tiny bug on another of the daisies, so had to take a photo of it too. I have never seen a bug like this before and I loved the white dots on its back. Maybe somebody can identify it.

I will try and catch up at the weekend. I haven't had a good day today.
Simply stunning macro image full of wonderful colour and pin sharp, we are on the downhill slope to winter here Babs, this summer lol was one of the wettest in years:)

I hope its not that stink bug they are carrying on about that will be a threat... but really there is no way this detailed little bug will be a danger! fav

That's the same temperature as it's been here in the north of Scotland this week! Hope Spring comes soon for you.
Great shot of the bug.

He looks like he has an abacus stencilled on his back. We were promised a warm day but still a sneaky cold wind creeps around. :)

@onewing I had friend from Adelaide post a photo of one the other day so knew what it was from her photo. The joy of photography is learning something new all the time.

What a lovely shot of a 'roach! Amazing colour and detail, almost like he is made of fossilised amber and the purple of the daisy really sets him off. Nice one.

Cockroaches have a very bad reputation here in the US- but ours are far uglier than this fellow and are often found in less sanitary conditions (hence the bad rep). This one is actually nice to look at with the pattern on his back. Great close-up. Hope today is better for you!

Well he's chosen the perfect place to visit and have his 15 minutes of fame. Super focus - I do love those little lines of dots across his back. Hope you're feeling a little better by now.

@pcoulson Thanks Peter. I am looking forward to warmer weather. Although it isn't winter every day in Australia, the last few days have been our coldest this winter so far.

Connie was clever enough to be able to identify it as an Ellipsidion Cockroach. Well done Connie. Who would have thought that a bug of the cockroach family could be so pretty. It was really tiny too, not like our usual cockroaches we see from time to time.
cockroaches have a bad reputation here too Ann.

@golftragic Hope Les is on the mend again soon Marnie. Lots of bugs going around at the moment of the germ variety.
September 2nd, 2017
Great shot, focus, detail. It's not like any cockroach I have seen. Looks like we'll be over to Sydney next year so I'll look out for it.
September 2nd, 2017
@onewing Her bug is sticking tight unfortunately, a week now and still nbg. Even worse, I now have a sniffly nose!! Hope you-know-who is behaving now birthdays are past.
September 3rd, 2017
@golftragic Wouldn't know about you-know-who. No contact at present. Too difficult. Too many other things to deal with for us.
September 3rd, 2017
@onewing Sounds fair to me, concentrate your energies on the possible.
