It's Raining

Well it was raining when I got up this morning.

It has been a grey day today, but although it has rained on and off all day, we haven't actually had a downpour. Need much more rain.

It was nice to see rain on the plants and flowers in the garden and they do look more refreshed.

I have just noticed that I didn't put my camera on to summertime when I took this photo.

Had a lovely at home day today. I don't get too many days where I don't have to go out at all, so it has been really nice.

Even though we finally got some rain, our rain gauge recorded only 1 mm. We have only had 6 mm rain since the end of August. We need much more if we are going to avoid devastating bush fires this summer.

@louannwarren Thanks Lou-Ann. We get plenty of sunshine. Rain is much needed at the moment. We have a rain gauge in our garden and it has only recorded a total of 6 mm of rain between the 31 August and the 10 October. I think we are in for a devastating bush fire season this summer.

@inthecloud5 thanks Christine, the rain was nice but nowhere near enough. We only got 1 mm and could do with a good downpour. Our rain gauge has only recorded a total of 6 mm between the end of August and today. Everywhere is so dry. We have already had one bushfire and it is still Spring.

@casablanca Our clocks went forward at the beginning of October and we are now on summertime. That means we are 10 hours in front of the UK at the moment.
The rain was nice, but still a lot more needed. It did feel quite tropical because the rain and warm weather made it quite humid.

@golftragic Nah! very little rain at all. The rain gauge only registered 1 mm and today the sun is shining so the rain will evaporate pretty soon.
Only had 6 mm rain since the end of August. Hot and humid today.
