If you saw yesterday's photo of the house in Hamilton you will see that the green and cream colours on buildings and other structures are used quite often here in Australia.
This is a photo of the bandstand at King Edward's Park in Newcastle. The park is quite close to the Bogey Hole that featured on my 365 a few weeks ago.
How funny . We have a bandstand almost the same in Dorchester but it's red. I took a photo of it yesterday but clipped the top off the weather vane so didn't use it! Fav
What a pretty bandstand. I do enjoy this style of architecture so much. Always reminds me of Harrogate in Yorkshire too! All you need now is the band and some sweet brass music.....
A beautiful setting, and well kept bandstand/rotunda. I can remember when these places were used for bands playing and people relaxing in the park and having fun. No TV or mobile devices. Fav.
A good old bandstand.....how great to see a band playing in these things years ago! Lots of deckchairs spread out with people sitting listening & eating ice cream.
@casablanca@365projectorgjenfurj@ethelperry@happypat They did have a band playing here a while ago. It was lovely to see people sitting on the grass having a picnic and listening to the music. Not sure if it is a regular thing though.
The rotunda is also a popular spot for wedding photography and also every December the Carols by Candlelight is performed here.
King Edward Park was dedicated as a recreation venue in 1863.
@dorsethelen You will have to post a photo of the rotunda/bandstand in Dorchester and we can compare the two.
