While I was showering Scraggy the kookaburra a couple of days ago, David was videoing it on his camera and after we had finished he spotted this female koel taking a drink from our birdbath in the garden.
He took a video of her too and this is a screen grab from the video.
That little drop of water so sums up the heat you are experiencing. I did smile. It isn't often you can say "when I was showering the kookaburra......"
@casablanca ha ha, doesn't everyone shower the kookaburras when there is a drought. I have just given him another shower this morning and he is looking so much better now, his feathers are almost back to normal.
@gilbertwood@hrs Thanks, we see quite a few of them here. Not generally keen on cuckoos, but this one looks quite pretty. They come here for summer and usually leave again in March.
@pcoulson David wouldn't get time to do 365, he has too many other activities on the go. He doesn't very often take photos these days, mainly he makes videos and edits them etc.
@sangwann To take a still from a video you have to stop the video at the appropriate time. press the 'print screen' key and then open the picture in Photoshop by making a new blank page and then edit paste to put the picture in and crop to size .
