First of all thanks so much for putting yesterday's Pinball Wizard on the PP. David will be thrilled that his title was a great success.
We had 55 mm rain yesterday and it is still raining. The garden is loving it.
Yesterday morning the temperature was 30 degrees C at 9 am and by the time I was on my way home from a birthday party yesterday afternoon the heavens had opened and we finally got some much needed rain.
I pulled in to the car park by the waterfront on my way home and spotted these brave people at the barbeque area by the beach. I don't think they will be sitting at the beach tables to eat their sausages.
I wasn't brave enough to get out of the car and be soaked so this is through the windscreen. I loved how the tables and benches looked wiggly as the rain ran down the windscreen of the car.
I quite like the overturned tinnies in the foreground and boats on the water too.
We had a month worth of rain in one day and have had very bad flooding and damage. Crazy weather, like you it has been really hot so the change in temperature was welcome.
@casablanca Five minutes before I took this photo the weather was fine and still around 30 C and pretty humid. Only minutes into my drive home from the party the heavens opened which is why I thought I would pull in at the car park to see if I could get a photo. These poor souls were caught in the rain mid barbie. Probably ended up with sausage soup.
A proper rainy picture Babs, love it, all those wavy rainy blotches of rain! It's rather beautiful when you look closely, sort of feathery & magical! We are expecting lots of snow tomorrow & minus 7 temperatures!
That is some serious raining going on. Rather not me be the one having a bbq at a time like this. The shot through the car windscreen works a treat - really emphasising the turmoil created by the rain. Great capture.
@ludwigsdiana@mittens Aussie's are a tough lot and don't let a spot of rain dampen their spirits.
@carole_sandford At least there are lots of boats around if things get too drastic.
@happypat I think I prefer our rain to your snow. At least the temperatures are still pretty warm here when it rains.
@pcoulson The rain has been lovely, sunny again today, but more rain forecast for the weekend apparently. The farmers need much more rain to overcome the drought in the Hunter Valley.
@rjb71 Our ground is almost pure sand here so the rain soon soaks into the earth. We need much more, it has been so dry for months with only a small amount of rain since Christmas. Very hot too, so what rain we have soon evaporates.
