I have managed to find more of the painted electricity junction boxes in Newcastle. I first posted some a while ago, and then posted the pillar people recently too, all painted by local artist Rebecca Murray.
I believe there are ten mouse boxes and so far this is the fifth one I have found and posted on 365 this year.
Here is one of the first ones I posted earlier this year.
Your information about the mouse clears up my initial confusion about this shot. I thought you had created a composite image. How clever though to create street art out of everyday mundane street furniture.
@beryl ha ha, you would have to duck down quite low to post a letter here, the junction boxes are only about 2 ft (60 cm) off the ground.
@gamelee Thanks Lee. Newcastle is quite well known for its street art and the electricity boxes of all descriptions are painted, including telecommunication pillars and traffic light junction boxes too. I have posted a few of the pillar people previously this year in my project and also this is the fifth mouse box I have found. They are great fun.
@shutterbug49 There is a sort of a map I believe, but it is not very exact. I think it is designed for kids to look for the pillars etc during the school holidays. I believe that there is now a website though where people can post when they have found the various pillars. I know the area where they are situated, so it is just a question of spotting them and then taking a photo.
This is the fifth mouse junction box I have found and I believe there are ten of them scattered around Newcastle, so next time I am there I will look out for more.
