This photo was taken on our walk at Shoal Bay over a week ago.
In the distance you can see what is known as The Heads. They are the remains of a super volcano over 300 million years ago. On the left is Yacaaba Head and on the right is Tomaree Head. In the centre you can see a tiny uninhabited island of Boondelbah which is a nature reserve.
Out through the Heads is the open ocean but our part of the bay is sheltered due to the collapse of the super volcano into itself.
