Tree Bark and Leaves

This is the last day of photos taken while I was at the eye hospital waiting for David's appointment.

Who would have thought I would get a whole week of photographs while at the hospital for a couple of hours.

I have no idea what variety of tree this bark is from but it does look nice and here are the leaves off the tree too.

I just love tree bark of any kind. Jennifer and Lou Ann think the trees may be crepe myrtle and they could be right. I have to admit I was mainly focussed on the pattern of the tree bark rather than the type of tree, but it is always good to identify them. The only two tree barks I can recognise normally are melaleuca (paperbark) and scribbly gum so if this is a crepe myrtle I can add another to my known trees, ha ha
