Another mystery

I mentioned that I am hopeless on naming flowers and plants and it is the same with this one too.

I spotted this plant in a garden down by the waterfront. No idea what it is but it looks so strange. If anyone knows what it is please let me know.

I am in a rush again tonight as we are out for dinner again. If we carry on like this I will forget how to cook.

I believe this is a cycad. It takes many years to grow large.

@annied Wow, how big is your garden Annie, this plant was huge and if you have got a collection of them your garden must be pretty big. Thanks for identifying it.

@onewing you're welcome - garden is reasonable size but they are very slow growing so not huge yet - will try to remember to take and post some photos of them - there are many different varieties/species - the one in your photo is the most commonly seen

@pcoulson Thanks Peter. the thingy bob flower is a cycas revolute a species of a cycad, identified by Annie and Sue. @annied @sioux We have some smart people on 365.

Don't knock it Babs, make the most of not having to cook! We have these plants in Spain too, butI don't know what theatre called either.
