Ozziehoffy has inspired me to find some bugs. I was amazed at the world of insects I found through the macro lens. I was not amazed that I could't get anything in focus.
So no exotic insects for me today....just a common old house fly
@maggiemae
ha ha...I couldn't believe he just sat there while I fiddled around with the camera! I used a 10x macro that screws onto my 18-55 kit lens. You have to get really close to the subject, and I thought he will fly away for sure!! @sheliwithani
He IS colourful, I was quite surprised...he also has a very hairy back!!!
Hey, it may be just a fly but it's a great shot! You got some good details, look at those hairs! How the heck did you get it to stay still long enough?! Those things always mock me by zipping off before I can focus! :)
@ozziehoffy
Was justing having a look back at my pictures ( I'm babysitting and the kids wanted a look), and realized I had donena fly last month http://365project.org/onie/365/2012-08-01
Today's is much better!!!
Do you use a tripod while waiting for bugs? I have such trouble getting the insect in focus.
@onie ooooh so you did!! Yep this one is better :) No, no tripod... I've used the gorillapod once, I think... but it was late and a spider so they don't move much lol. I've heard some people do use tripods but I can't work out how you'd move with and insect if you use one?
@ozziehoffy
Tried with both...took so many this morning can't remember for this one. Think I may have had it on manual, and I moved back and forth till he was in focus :)

Are you using manual or auto focus?
