This is a shot from our little trip last week! After hitting a couple spots on the coast we jotted over to Solvang, Ca. One of my favorite placed to recharge the batteries! When I'm away with the family, its hard to stop the car to take a shot without getting the raised eyebrow or a "awww, Dad!" coming from the group. So, I like to get up a couple hours early and take off by myself and explore a little with the old trusty 7D. Its a great time to bond with the surroundings! This is a shot of the valley about 7:00am. The light was gorgeous and I just loved the mist over the old barn in the background! I always make up for taking the time away from the family with a Starbucks on the return! ;)

wow.. this is amazing... i didnt know what to say about it after staring at for a few seconds.. its just pure amazing..i like the sun rays in the distance, you got an eye for a capture, good job! :-]
I agree with Sue about viewing large. It is a wonderful photo of interplay of light and mist, and the tree in foreground really jumps out. I love the way in California the morning light falls from over the mountains.

This is just gorgeous! Love that mist! It sounds like a common theme with my family too! I usually ask to stop or hike somewhere for a photo and I get the oh, no!!!!! So today I gave them a choice and it went over a little better. They wanted to know which spot was closer to home and I chose that one (thought I was being sneaky!). :-)

I love the way the mist is glowing here. Getting up early is the best time for light anyway, so everyone wins. My family aren't happy when I stop the car for photos, but sometimes it's what I need to do to get a shot for the day!!
