This is my second attempt at long exposure with my "Big Stopper"! It's not as easy as I thought it would be! This is actually the first time I've used the "Bulb" function on my camera! I see a shutter release cable in my future! :o)
Love this! I'd happily hang it on my wall! I was given a variable ND filter recently that I must experiment with. Your picture is giving me some ideas :-)
I never got anything this cool, but I used my shutter release cable regularly in the 80's with my all-manual film Minolta. I finally got an electronic one for my DSLR, but I haven't used it yet!
I was so tempted to get the IRND filters (10 and 6) by Hitech last month... but decided to wait a bit. When you get it figured out let us in on your secrets :) This came out great Jerry!
@kwiksilver Lol! I thought the same thing! The "big stopper" is a 10 stop ND filter made by Lee. It allows these long exposure shots to be taken in the middle of the day. They are so dark you can't even see through them!
@orangecrush thanks, Jerry. I've just bookmarked a whole lot of discussions about ND filters .... now I've just got to read them and hope I can understand ;)
Jerry...you are lying to us ...this shot was not taken on Planet Earth...It obviously an Extraterrestrial shot when you were abducted with your 7D....Great shot and of course...a FAV....
Gorgeous! I thought of you this morning when I looked out and saw rocks poking out as the tide went down. I wanted so badly to go out and do some slow shutter shots but life prevented it. Maybe tomorrow!!
Fantastic shot, Jerry. It looks so mysterious, otherworldly.... I'm very intrigued with your "Big Stopper". Looking forward to more of your long exposure shots. FAV
