@roseolivia Hi Rachel, my first go 'to shoot with intent that is not snapping what you see but planning a shoot with a result in mind'
I wanted to do an image for five plus two, theme food. The result in mind was creating an image with the apple in the center, forcing me to make a decision if I eat the apple or not. This as history shows, and also nowadays, is not always safe :-)
I think if I could do this again, I would leave the saucer out. I also block the light source a lot, so would change my position and maybe also my pose.
Oh, definitely, go ahead. Take the apple. What harm could come? :-)
Thanks for the get pushed challenge. For your challenge, since I've been spending the last few days in Minneapolis at the North American Festival of Wales, I can't resist giving you a challenge that's related. Show me something you really love about the place in Wales where you live. If what you love about it includes doing stuff, by all means feel free to include your adorable children.
@overalvandaan So sorry this has taken me so long to reply :-). Going back to normal, slowly! Beautiful shot and it definitely helps me to shoot with an idea in mind despite the fact that it rarely turns out how I want to. I love the focus on the apple and the very soft background. As you mentioned, I would have left the saucer out to keep in simpler, maybe have it in your extended hand, but it is great. Beautifully done :-)
@roseolivia no worries I knew you were holiday, just eager to try :-) Thanks for the feedback. I'm definitely going to try to make this more of a habit. I'm using the A on my camera. And yesterday's shot was based what you wrote I your email about black and white photography. I had bold colours (orange butterfly, blue sky, purple flower) and even though it was an okay pic, I like the processed one better. Turned it to black and white and softened the edges. Okay, of to more intended shots, I'll tag you again, okay?
