My dad, he's a great storyteller. He makes them up along the way. This is in France, my nieces walked next to him listening intently and forgetting that the walk in the forest was so long.
this is a wonderful picture, saxa. he blends in with the environment. i would've loved to hear his stories. my father used to do that, too, when i was little. but i suppose my siblings and i grew up. we still remember his stories, though. this brought a lot of memories from that long ago childhood. you are so lucky to have taken this.
A super capture of your father - a real King of his castle ,standing there on the tree trunk ! -- but really reminds me more of the Green Man !! Love it --FAV
@summerfield@beryl thanks ladies! My dad used to be the one reading our bedtime stories. And I remember on one holiday camping, we were ten, twelve, fourteen I think when he read Nils Holgersson. Even though I was a bit old for that story I still loved listening to it.
Great picture of your Dad. I love the way his stick turns into a tree, was that intentional? My Dad is a great storyteller, he told us a tale of the Scottish haggis it's right leg is shorter than the left as it always running up hills in circles!
This is a great family memento Saxa. You may know that in France, 'Raconteur' is a recognised profession. Where I live with its 20000 hectares of forest which contains many sites related to the legends of King Arthur, there are a number of raconteurs who take summer visitors on walks through the forest and recount legends and fairytales just like your Dad here.
@vignouse this is taken in Foret Domaniale des Andaines, near Domfront in France. What a great profession, 'Raconteur', next time we're in France I'll look out for them.
