Nettle tea by overalvandaan

Nettle tea

30 Days Wild - Day 4

After dinner I went into the garden to cut some leaves from the nettles. Of course I knew that the boys and girl would be interested in what I was doing. The boys cut a couple of leaves and put them in a pan. We washed the leaves. Put them in water till the water almost boiled. Let it simmer for a while. Poured it in cups and had a nettle tea drink! Sep and Roz liked the tea. Lev didn't want to try.
Looks very tasty.

@roachling now thinking, we should have made a little fire, to boil the water instead of the hob :-)

@overalvandaan oh yes, that would be been even better - a storm kettle (kelly kettle) would be perfect.

Delicious!

@kali66 pesto? I'm going to try that, we eat quite a bit, but not homemade, thanks for the tip. Mark uses the nettles (without the roots) for composting.
