Seedlings by overalvandaan

Seedlings

To grow or not to grow...

My parents and later my sister and family brought us some 'Moestuin potjes' from the Albert Heijn, a Dutch supermarket. They give a little pot + seeds + earth when you spend a certain amount in their store. I planted them together with the children. Some have come up, some haven't (yet). Lev is all excited with his cucumber seedling, the big two- leafed one on the left. Roz her paksoi (not shown) is also growing well. Sep likes to just sit in the windowsill and stare at the plants. His watercress is already eaten. I asked him if he can see the seedlings grow. 'Sometimes', he said.
we had these in new zealand supermarkets last summer, such a lovely thing and beats all those stupid plastic toys they usually do

@kali66 very much agree, and I also love it that the children check 'their' plants every morning when they come downstairs, and during the day :-)

What a delightful way to encourage the children to grow and observe -- and it will be great when they come to eat their produce --

Succes met het kweken. Over het algemeen denk ik dat het meer verkocht wordt om de verkoop als om het resultaat.

I like the Q&A with Sep. It's always interesting to hear how a child will answer a question. I think that children like to watch growing things, be they animal or vegetable.

How very lovely - so important to capture these ordinary daily details.
