I've been doing a course for the past couple of weeks and have just learnt about exposure compensation. Today, I had the opportunity to actually play with it! The sun was really bright and from this angle washed these out... I wanted them darker than what the camera chose and with a dark background... mission accomplished!!
My main frustration with this, turned out to be with the RAW processing and trying to get the tones right... not sure I'm there yet!
I think this looks better large with the black background.
@alia_801 Thanks so much, Alia! The gradient background was due to the water tank behind the right hand side of the shot :) It's actually green... so playing with the exposure compensation got me a darker background (as well as the subjects) and a cool gradient look too!!
@pawar_ramesh Thank you :) Ps... Hoffmann is my surname!
@mummarazzii Thanks Lisa :)
@sugarmuser Thanks Sharon, it is.. so that is a plus!! It's easy to follow too, which is great :)
@jdr4690 Thanks Rob... sure is!!
@bdb3471 Thank you, Brian :)
@danacarruthers Thanks Dana... twirly skirts reminded me of a shot @saranna did a while ago when her daughter thought that of a plant!
@pizzaboy Thanks so much, Mick! When I'm done with getting through the basics, I might just check that out :)
@yogee246 Thanks Gita :)
