Tulips... they are one of my top 2 faves when it comes to flowers. Today, they were on special, so I treated myself to some. When Andy asked me where they came from, I told him a secret admirer... he said who.. I said... ME!! The "vase" is actually this really cool white jug I bought to place these in... cos they looked really funky in it!
Anyway, these are sitting on my kitchen bench. I came up to make a coffee this afternoon and was distracted by how they looked in the late afternoon sun which had created beautiful lighting in the room. So, the coffee took a back seat and the camera came out! The background is my window blind which I closed to form a backdrop. The sun sets to the left of this shot and the light coming through was just perfect.
The exposure time is around half a second.. I don't own a tripod, so I sat straddled on a dining chair and used the back of it to rest on and steady the camera lol.
@sailingmusic Thanks Myrna :) I went into the cheapie shop after buying the tulips to find a vase to suit them (the only one i have is cut crystal and not for these)... but they were not nice and then I spotted this and it was perfect!
yes Cassandra - a classic composition & a classic shot too! It looks like a Mother's Day card! The background colour complements the tulips beautifully. x
