Stuck in the sand

Really a filler as I am busy helping Mrs P do the weekly chores.
Interesting couple of comments from some of my friends. The first is that people are saying they are bored with their Kingfishers shots.Well in a way I can see the point but what they don't see or perhaps get is the hours taken to get the shot. These shots are not taken from a baited hide but taken after hours and miles of walking in all weather to capture a shot.
The second point is I was approached to sell a photo that I had taken. Initially over the moon but when I quoted what I thought was a reasonable price the response was well you only have to print it and put in on a mount. Strange how some people see your work.
Friday rant over have a good weekend where ever you are.
A interesting look posted

I like the simplicity and space in this photo, perfect composition.
Who could ever get bored with Kingfisher shots!! Each and every photo is different and the time, skill and patience taken to capture them is enviable!

You so have my sympathy on that one. People never see the hours put in to achieve your result. I've never managed even to get a blurred picture of a kingfisher and even reasonable photos of other birds are beyond my capabilities. As a textile artist I shy away at pricing my work at a reasonable price as I know it will just stack up in my studio. So much of it is given away so that I have space to make more! Not the idea at all. Good luck.

Simple shot with a great title that tells a story...Your Kingfisher shots are always great and the bird is so colorful.

Tired of kingfisher shots? Tired of life!! Who could not appreciate the beauty of these gorgeous tiny birds and admire the hours you spend out hunting them. Methinks there is a touch of jealousy Clive!! Keep up the great work - I always look forward to seeing more of your shots!!

Never bored with kingfishers! They are such special little birds. And ones that most of us don't get to see! I do like shadows and sand...so this is quite nice with the lighting.

A new age man, I like that! I'm in the process of 'training' my newly retired husband to be a bit more proactive around the house! I like the simplicity of this, less is definitely more sometimes. But never better than kingfishers.

People just don't appreciate how difficult it is to get shots of Kingfishers!!! I saw one this morning but didn't get a shot of him/her. You are a good boy to stay home and help your wife! I wish I had some help doing chores around the house because I hate housework and would swap it any day for time outside. That reminds me I had better get on with some housework tomorrow when its pouring with rain!

The hours I've walked and not seen a KF, or seen it loads but not been able to get it on sensor! how can you ever get bored with a KF? crazy!!

Love this image, can almost smell the sea air and feel the seabreeze.

I once took a photograph that one person wanted "so badly". They wanted is so much that they were prepared to pay for it. I quoted a price that reflected the cost of the paper and ink only. They gasped and told me that I was being greedy. I told them to "**** off!". It didn't sell the picture but it made me feel a lot better. Don't give in to them!
