Siem Reap

A really good friend arrived a couple of days ago providing us an excuse to make what is probably going to be our last trip to Siem Reap for a long while as we will be finally moving to Jakarta in about 10 weeks. It is common to buy your ticket for the next day the previous evening and then spend the last hour or so before the park closes watching the sunset either from the other side of the moat at Angkor Wat or from up the top of the always heavily populated Bakeng. We like to take the road less travelled and chose a much less populated, often completely deserted, temple to explore in the fading light. This time we made the 20 minute trip to the back end of the park, via an obligingly fast tuk tuk driver, to Ta Prohm and only had to share the space with 5 others....perfect....
One of my favourite parts of Angkor Wat
