This red fruit can be found in Cambodia too but here in Indonesia it is called "jambu air" which translates to water apple a very apt description. The skin is similar to apple skin. Inside the white or slightly pink flesh has the texture of a crunchy watermelon but has a slightly acidic dry flavour which is very distinctive. There are five different varieties a couple of which are cultivated as far away as Hawaii.
