We left early this morning and had a trouble free journey to North Devon 6 1/2 hours driving! My knee is a bit stiff and I feel exhausted but we will have a quiet day tomorrow with no driving!
We were too early to go to our house in Instow so we stopped off for a walk at Westward Ho! Very hot and sunny but there was a wonderful sea breeze off the sea! Ecstasy After so many humid days with no wind.
This is Westward Ho! And the tide was right in. When it goes out it is fabulous flat sandy beach. These rocks at the back of the beach have been put there as flood prevention as the ground on the other side is the Northern Burrows which is low lying land which would be prone to flooding without the sea defence.
We had a lovely walk along Instow beach once we had unpacked. The dogs love it! The forecast is to get hotter next week - I am just hoping we get the sea breeze!
@golftragic I am really suffering this morning Marnie - stiff all over! I don’t think the walk on the sandy beach helped! I hate this where you do something you have been doing all your life - especially driving long distances- and it has this effect! Getting old I am afraid plus the heat isn’t helping! Barb does drive her own car but doesn’t want to drive mine. I think she has lost her confidence. I know though that in an emergency where I couldn’t drive she would be able to get us home!
@pamknowler OA sucks!!! I used to do long drives like that without batting an eye-lid. Now I find it a bit of a strain, esp if I'm on my own. My son and family live around five hours away, and my daughter around two and a bit. The latter's OK, but the former takes it out of me. Mind you, the fact that once I get behind the wheel to go somewhere I don't really like stopping unless it's essential (like a particularly popular bakery on the way to Swan Hill to see my son.

Car trips can be a bit of a pain.
At 45 I too get stiff.
Hope your enjoying yourself.😊
