Half and half - 1 - Prunus Serrula tree (Tibetan cherry tree)
My first half and half image. I took a few shots when I was at Castle Ashby wondering if this is right. I forgot all about it yesterday and didn't upload for the 1st May so I have moved my shot of Finlay and put this into yesterday's date. There were lots of trees with interesting bark so I might use these for my first few days.

Many thanks for your lovely comments on my images - so very much appreciated!!
@louannwarren@s4sayer Just looked this up and it is a Prunus serrula tree - Tibetan Cherry tree. I knew it was a kind of cherry tree. Whenever we see this tree at Castle Ashby my sister and I always say it's our favourite tree.
What I like about this one is that bright color contrast, and the smooth texture in the tree contrasting with the grass beyond. Hopefully half-and-half will serve as an inspiration for the month. I suspect part of the issue is that after awhile, we run out of steam for taking photos in the same area, no matter how interesting the area might be. I am doing better these days when I've taken a trip somewhere interesting, and am bored with photographing what feels like the same thing as I've posted in the past.
I like this image very much. I read the comment from @taffy with considerable interest and totally agree with what she says. This challenge gives you a chance to think laterally and not just reiterate what we've posted before.
