Oh yes we are on holiday in Devon!! Gale force winds and torrential rain and so much colder than it should be in May!! My niece Ruth came for lunch yesterday and lit the wood burner for us. Wow it certainly warmed the room up quickly!! So cosy!!
Last year I lit the wood burner and managed to fill the whole house with smoke. I didn't pull one of the knobs out or I didn't push it in - not sure which!! I am a bit wary of trying again. Barbara put another jumper on today and stop saying how cold you are!! LOL!!
@happypat I tried twice today to light the wood burner but no luck! I will have to get my niece to show me again! We put on extra layers as it was quite chilly! I can’t believe this is May!
I don't have a wood burner but in a way I wish I did as they look so lovely. I have had to put the heater on this last week though, I also can't believe this is May, Winter has arrived earlier than usual down here and seems to be taking its time leaving you up there.
Looks warm and cozy! It is snowing in Lake Tahoe, a week before the summer season opens. Sounds like you had the flu closed instead of open if you got smoke inside the room. Enjoy your time on holiday.
Ever since our fire, we’ve been reluctant to use the wood burning stove on the island — even though it’s perfectly safe! Your image reminds me how warm and cozy it feels.
