I was in the bird hide taking shots of some great tits on the feeders when I noticed one of their little chicks on the fence and spreading his wings - probably to see if they are working yet!! He kept this up for a while - closing them and then spreading them.

Amazing capture, Pam!! those wings are gorgeous and you've captured them so well. Do you usually take your bird shots from a hide? You always have such good ones.
@taffy thanks Taffy! No most of my bird shots are taken in my garden at the bird feeders. I am sitting in my lounge and the shots are through the window. True armchair photography! I always use my 100-400 mm lens at 400mm and normally have to crop a bit. With full frame camera Canon 5D Mark 11 I don't loose any clarity when I crop. I shoot RAW and make minor adjustments in LR.
