I visited Woburn Deer Park this morning in the hope of seeing the rut in action. It was actually quite quiet at first and although there were lots of red deer most of the stags were sitting down - probably exhausted after a busy nights work!! We could hear some stags calling and finally came across this gorgeous stag who was with his harem of ladies but making sure he was keeping any young bucks away from them. What a fabulous sound - so loud!!

@padlock As you can see I manged to get some shots at Woburn - so many I found it hard to choose what to upload!! I would like to try Bushy but it's a bit far for me.
@padlock Taking shots from my car. I have a foot problem and am not able to walk too far - which is why i cannot join you on your London meet up - such a pain - literally!!
This is a fabulous capture. Great detail and soft background. I've heard these guys calling (we have a Deer Park near to us in Derbyshire - Bradgate Country Park) and I've heard the noise they make. I can hear this one now.
