27th November 2014 - Where are the trees?

I took Finlay for a short walk this morning as he is feeling much better. I was shocked to see they have chopped down about 15 fir trees along the lane where we walk. Finlay couldn't make it out and had to sniff every twig.

Please note the new red harness he is wearing. The vet said he shouldn't have a lead on his throat as it was very sore so i bought the harness. Finlay hates it and keeps sitting down refusing to walk and trying to chew it. I remember why I got the slip lead he normally wears. He chewed through at least 10 harnesses when he was a puppy. He just hates them!!

Many thanks for your lovely comments on yesterday's shot. That will be the last sneaky one I will be taking I think!! LOL!!
Finlay looks quite smart in his new harness but too bad he doesn't like it. Hopefully he'll get used to it or at least come to accept it. I'm glad he's feeling better!

@taffy Thanks Taffy. I was upset to find out that his friend Tilly who we saw last Friday has now come down with the cough and is really poorly with it. I must check again with Rhona who we saw last friday when Finlay had his hair cut. I am worried as Ula had her puppies about an hour after I left - 2 girls and a boy. I just hope none of Rhona's dogs have come down with the cough!!

@pamknowler Oh dear...that is worrisome. Sending good thoughts Tilly's way and hoping no puppies were affected.

Don't think any of them like harnesses, Gemma used to roll over, trying to get out of it.

Try putting the harness on at different times of the day, not going out. Then reward him with a treat each time. He looks great!

Dear little Finlay! How clever to chew up something you don't like! Glad he's getting better.

Sweet shot

Finlay does look concerned

Sorry the trees had to come down. I'm guessing that there was a good reason for it. Glad to hear Finley is feeling better. Hope he doesn't get that cough.

What a shock!

There may, or may not have been a good reason but I hate to see mature trees felled. I'm with Finlay.

@golftragic Sorry, I meant to ask how Finlay's cough is going.
November 28th, 2014
@golftragic thanks Marnie. It is much better. He is only coughing now when he gets excited and starts barking - it says him off again. His friend Tilly has it now but much worse than Finlay. She keeps being sick when she barks and feels very sorry for herself.I feel bad if Finlay gave it to her!

You can just feel his curiosity in this capture. Love his red harness, looks so handsome against his white coat. Very cute shot. Hope he continues to get better and that he can go back to his regular lead for walking soon.

That smell is very strong! Hope Finlay is doing better!

He does look very smart and I do hope he gets used to this sort of lead soon. Glad he is on the mend

Love Finlay's investigation techniques.

What a shame about the trees. But I'm so glad Finlay is feeling better. His harness looks good, too bad it doesn't feel good to him.

The downed trees must be confusing for Finlay.....where to go, where to go. Is that a plaid harness....in keeping with his heritage. :)
