Wow I have completed my 2nd year on 365!! These are a few of my shots which reached the Popular Page. It has been great fun with year 2 not having as much pressure as the year 1 as I didn't worry if I couldn't take a shot every day. I have also been part of a mentoring group which really helped me when I was struggling. I hope we will start again in 2015 as I love the challenge!!
Many thanks for all your great comments and support over the two years - I love being part of 365 and look forward to continuing with the many friendships I have made. Happy New Year to you all!!
Well done Pam, for completing 24 months. I also complete 12 months tomorrow and would appreciate your input ,of how to collage the 12 months together. I wish you a Happy New Year.
@poggle Hi Paul I did this collage by getting a screen print of my shots which have been on the PP. In Photoshop I then added the text and in Picmonkey I added the border. I took the photo back into Lightroom and then I could export the finished pic to 365. This is a bit complicated. Many people use Picmonkey to make their collages and they look wonderful. There are other sites where you could do a collage of the whole year but not sure what to recommend. Last year I did a collage at the end of each month (30/31 pics) and at the year end I chose my favourite photo from each month and made a collage with them (12 pics). It does take time but it's worth it. Good luck!!
@poggle Paul my friend Phill who is also on 365 suggested bighugelabs.com/mosaic.php and he said Picassa is also good for doing a collage. I am sure one of the above will be fine for you.
Congratulations on completing your second 365 Pam and a Happy New Year. Look forward to seeing more of your shots in 2015.
You would need a bloody big collage to fit all of your PP entries for the year in to.
What a wonderful selection of shots Pam, I have really enjoyed following your Project this year and I'm glad you are continuing for a third year. Wishing you good health and happiness in 2015.
Big congratulations Pam, what an achievement. I'm almost done with my first year and am looking forward to easing off the pressure a bit. Life's a tad busy round here these days, and about to get busier with treatment to start soon.
Such an impressive collage Pam! Congratulations on completing your second year. Your pictures are always a pleasure to look at (especially when they include Finlay of course)! A;ll the best to both of you for 2015--thanks for your support and comments and beautiful work.
Lovely collage Pam. I'd love to kick start mentoring group again. @taffy and @888rachel what are your thoughts and feelings? Let the new year settle and start a project in mid jan? Do we all have macro lens? Some sort of macro challenge? I know Rachel is a macro insect star but maybe we could try other macro subjects? Anyway just a thought. @golftragic completely understand. My thoughts are with you both.
@newbank Sounds like a great idea Ruth. I have a macro lens which I love so would enjoy a macro challenge. Not many insects around these parts at this time of year and I think Taffy would be the same. Looking forward to our group starting off again I have really enjoyed it so far!! @golftragic Thinking of you both and lets hope you will be feeling fine very soon - we will be here when you feel able to join us!! @taffy@rachel888 Taffy and Rachel - looking forward to sharing our efforts once again!!
Wow, you've finished year 2. What an achievement! @newbank@taffy@golftragic I'm definitely up for a new mentor group challenge! Macro is always good with me.
@888rachel@pamknowler@taffy now bed in bed this afternoon with a tummy bug....my brain has been wandering..... And I've thought some more about a macro theme. Suggestions of topics are colour, patterns, people, flowers, abstract, food, insects, man made objects, black & white. Do you like any of the topics? Any others? Shall I send an email round with a list of suggested topic for the week?
@newbank They all sound like great topics - some quite challenging I think!! Yes If you have time you could start us off with an email. Hope your tummy bug doesn't linger!! @taffy@rachel888
@newbank@pamknowler@rachel888@golftragic That sounds good to me. If you don't mind getting the thread started, Ruth, that would be wonderful. I'm thinking that as I look toward year 3, I need to learn and use Lightroom as my primary goal. But I also want to stay connected to the site. My thinking for now is that if our critique group continues (even just as a motivating group!), I'd participate in this group and the Toys group, but mostly focus on LR tasks otherwise. I'm happy to coordinate and was thinking that we could take turns as that seems to be evolving naturally, so that no one person is organizing all the time. Thanks Ruth, for getting us going again!
@taffy@newbank@pamknowler@rachel888 Many thanks for the good wishes and kind thoughts, very much appreciated believe you me. I'm happy to be in another group exercise, I learned a lot and had heaps of fun last year (can't believe it's now 'next year'!). I don't have a macro lens nor do I have access to one, so anything I do won't be real macro but I'll do my best with close-ups with the lenses I have got. Thanks everyone for getting us into group mode again, I've missed it.
@taffy@newbank@pamknowler@rachel888 I should have also said that after I complete my full year (very soon!) I too will be backing off a bit. I want to spend more time working further on fewer images, transferring my mind and photos from Aperture to LR, and improving my Photoshop skills. Like Taffy, I want to stay involved with the 365 project, but not every day. Very happy to be involved with group exercises though. I've made some good cyber-friends on 365, and would hate to lose touch with them.
@golftragic@newbank@pamknowler@rachel888 One thing I'm thinking about doing (with @darylo) is going through the LR book together, a chapter at a time. That's as far as we've gotten with thinking about it as we both have the book but haven't read it. The reviews say it's the best one out there. I also bought a video tutorial. I just need the motivation to stay on top of it. Marnie, I'd be glad to let you know when we start. I'm going to have to cut back on commenting as I need to focus on learning LR's system.
Congrats to you on the completion of a 2nd year of 365. This collage is made up of wonderful pictures. Best wishes in continuing that trend in your third project.
You would need a bloody big collage to fit all of your PP entries for the year in to.
@taffy @rachel888 Taffy and Rachel - looking forward to sharing our efforts once again!!
