After that brief glimpse of the sun this morning this was the sky as we took Finlay for his walk along the lane to the village of Gilling West. (A quick iPhone shot) I have taken shots of this tree in all seasons and weathers but I thought the threatening sky behind it today really gave us warning of what was to come.
We drove through the glorious Dales up to Hawes and when I got out of the car to walk Finlay I could hardly stand up as the wind was so strong. Even on a dull damp day the countryside was beautiful!! God's own county Yorkshire!! I love it here in sun or rain.
Yes the rain arrived just after we arrived back at the cottage and thank goodness I wasn't out in it!! I feel so sorry for the market stalls in the town of Richmond - they must have really suffered not only from the weather but from lack of people who braved it.
Wow Pam! What a story this tells!!! I love your enthusiasm for Yorkshire and a well-told story of the effects of a miserable rainfall on people trying to sell their last-minute Christmas wares! You know how I love to stuff everything with textures but no need to add anything here! It's all been done...and beautifully!
