We had another session yesterday for my great niece Sophie's art project. She was unable to use the other shots we did as I took the photos even though she directed me. So my sister once again was the model and in this image Sophie wanted to capture the smoke from the cigarette. She is using the work of an artist whose name I can't remember and she had seen a shot with smoke. Neither Barbara or myself smoke so Sophie had to get the cigarette from her other nanny!! The images are supposed to make you feel an emotion or see the emotion depicted. She wanted empty bottles of booze in the shot too which we provided!! LOL! That's diet coke in the glass by the way.
I got the lighting and settings on the camera for her and then Sophie took lots of shots from different angles. This was her favourite as we managed to capture the smoke.
I loved the way Sophie realised that the light was the most important part of this image. She is learning and I am having fun guiding her.
Quite a story here! I like your sister’s hand shadow and the lighting in the scene is excellent. I am sorry after all that your sister didn’t have red wine in that glass to enjoy. Ha!
@joansmor I am laughing at your comment Joan as my sister hates the lines in her face and normally doesn't like any shot I take of her. As this was for her granddaughter she couldn't refuse! When she saw the image she said oh no look at my lines!! I won't read out your comment to her!! LOL!!
Wow! Such an emotional and troubling image! Barbara's a fine model...did she know she had it in her?! You all must have had a fine time! (I did see I had a letter from you, but had such a full weekend -2 dinners with friends!-I haven't gotten to my email but put up one photo and left some comments. have SO much to catch up on! I really let myself get busy and we have house guests and a trip to Catalina planned for the end of the week-into all next week!! All fun...all a bit dizzying! Call if you'd like!
