Hiding in the sand dunes by pamknowler

Hiding in the sand dunes

This is my niece Ruth looking for her daughter Mary Jane who has run into the sand dunes and wandered off. Every parents nightmare!! Mary Jane could hear her mum calling and was ignoring her. Yes she was told off and we all said how worried we were as we couldn't find her. She has become a little diva I'm afraid and is making her mum's life even more difficult than it needs to be. Maybe she is attention seeking as her young sister Molly of course does need a lot of attention. Life is hard for Ruth at times.

Best on black

It's fab on black and I love your composition. I understand how difficult that moment must have been for your niece.

If Mary Jane is 12 or 13, that’s normal behavior, they really do become divas for a while. This is a great photo of the beach and dunes, with Ruth to give us perspective. Nope Marysettles down, I’m sure she will, given a little time.

Children can make our hearts stop without ever knowing it. I am so glad that it all worked out.

I am so glad she was found. That is always worrisome for them to disappear. It does look like there were many places for her to hide, or even get lost.

Kids!!! What an awful experience for Ruth, as you say, every parent's nightmare. So good to hear she was safe and sound.

I just read the other comments and then read your information - I'm sorry Mary Jane wandered off, but glad she was found! The terifc above was for the capture - not the events!!

Such a pretty scene. I remember getting to the beach, parking, going to get a ticket for the car park and coming back to find Cathy had got out of the car and wandered off (age 4!) A team of kind passers-by helped me to find her. (She said she thought I'd gone without her and so was trying to catch me up. As if!!)
