The one thing I have noticed about Nova Scotia is that the porches of most houses are decorated. They were decorated for Canadian Thanksgiving and now it is changing ready for Halloween. I was told by a local that they just love to decorate the porch at any excuse!!
This house beats the record for the most pumpkins on the steps. I think it looks wonderful and wish that in the UK we did more to decorate the outside of our houses.
Like how the pumpkins are just about the only colour other than grey on grey and the grass green ... NZ doesn't go all out with Halloween either though I did see the local Rest Home has decorated their front window..
I like this shot very much with the splashes of bright colour from those pumpkins. Much to my horror (pun intended) Australia, more accurately Australian retailers have taken up Halloween with great enthusiasm over the past few years. I'm strongly opposed to cultural imperialism!!
@golftragic@kjarn I actually hate Halloween as it’s definitely not something which used to be celebrated in the UK apart from bobbing apples! I hate the way all the kids now dress up and do trick or treat- all taken from the US- from movies. I just like the colourful display of pumpkins - more of a harvest theme.
The perfect stage for those pumpkins! They certainly brighten up that rather grey house. I don't like Halloween & am rather glad it's not that big a thing in the UK. I do like all the pumpkins though.
@golftragic me too
