We went to the local farm shop yesterday to order our meat for Christmas - beef not turkey!!
I got out of the car and was greeted by a pair of geese. I thought what a great opportunity for a photo so stopped to get out my phone.
I took this shot and suddenly this goose decided he didn't like me and came rushing towards me hissing!! I beat a hasty retreat to the butchers shop!! I wasn't stopping for a photo!!
They make excellent guard dogs. A few years ago we heard there was a woodworking display at an old museum and as we drove past we stopped to check what times and days the museum was open. At the entrance were two geese and they wouldn't let us past to see the sign on the door. We had to return later when the museum was open and the geese had been removed. They definitely did their job of guarding the building.
