God has a brown voice, as soft and full as beer.
Anne Sexton
I never thought it made sense that my Dad's favorite color was brown, every time that topic came up I was convinced he was telling a joke because he joked a lot, and who could really like the color of dirt? Now I have met chocolate and I love brown.
I am not much of a chocolate person but I LOVE brown. Brown clothes go well with my skin and there are a ton of shades of beautiful browns and tans. Brown decorated rooms are warm and inviting. My favorite pets were always some shade of the color. I'm sure your dad wasn't joking, he was just a classy guy! :)
you know, dixie, i've been looking forward these colour collages and it just occurred to me what am i going to do when you've covered all the colours! it's the best way to showcase all those tons of photos. i know you're going to run out of colours before you ever run out of photos to display. keep it up, i'm enjoying it!
@summerfield Can you think of any more because I have grey and then a rainbow one and I'm done I want to try to do a week with the thumbnails being one long panorama of my coast next but I keep looking at these color collages and thinking it might make a good picture book for preschoolers
@gnilrets So for years I have kept a folder on iPhoto called all time favorites. I have just gone to PicMonkey collage then opened that folder and snagged pictures with the color of the day. Fun to revisit old shots instead of framing new ones all the time
there are all the other colors besides the primary, like indigo - one of my favorites - coral - go to a paint store and get some of the paint strip samples and you will be overwhelmed with ideas. what a great idea about children's books. they will be so colorful, catch and hold their attention. go for it, Dixie. instant best sellers and a way to combine both of your talents.
I've always loved brown ...every shade of it. Beautiful collage showing the beauty of brown. When I get old (REALLY old!) I wear alot of brown (and black and white!) Your color collages would be wonderful for children and also a learning tool ...plus they can add their own objects, etc. to this for added interest. Go for it, Dixie. Are you in some kind of color challenge right now. I NEVER keep up with challenges. Just consider myself lucky to capture a photo. lol BTW, your dad had great taste.
Wonderful collection of brown's. Although it was not my father's favorite color, he liked brown because it was the color of wood. He liked working with wood. I like wood, but I prefer chocolate.
