Keiko, Sea The Memory by pandorasecho

Keiko, Sea The Memory

I think it is obvious but in case it is not. I did take a picture of a picture someone else took. The center one is the family on a fiberglass whale in Sea World, the two on the side are my pictures of the Free Willy, whale, KEIKO

I am thankful for a past filled with fun times and wonderful moments that my children have forgotten but that the pictures give testimony to. I think, even though they have forgotten a lot, the combination of all those experiences helped make them who they are now.

I am thankful for our connection to the animals on this planet too. While Keiko (From Free Willie) was in Oregon at the Newport aquarium, we visited often and the whale always came right to the glass to say "Hi" and smile. When they turned him loose, and he died a couple years later, I cried like I'd lost an old friend.
i so agree. every experience, good, bad or indifferent, combines to make us who we are. i did not know that Keiko died a few years aftr having been set free. how sad. wonderful set of shots, Dixie.

@catsmeowb @sarasdadandmom @henrir @daisy That was the day I met the nastier side of me, affectionately known as Momma Bear, ever after. My three year old was walking, staring up at Keiko, and didn't see a roll of film hit the ground and roll under where his next step would fall. The man with a press badge came up from a crouch and hit my boy with two flat hands to his chest and knocked him backwards. I went from sweet lady to seeing red, "I'm going to kill this idiot" but fortunately a security guard saw it too and got between us and kicked him out, never apologized, just screamed that that roll of film could have had a million dollar shot in it.

beautiful sentiment. and boo to that guy with a press badge. you should've tried to get his name, reported him to whoever gave him the press credentials. hurting a stranger child? he'd be in prison today with that attitude and he'd be paying you a million dollars instead!
