In afternoon when Sun was strongest and temp 46ºC (115ºF), this guy was looking for lunch.
The Black-shouldered Kite (Elanus axillaris) is a small and graceful, predominantly pale grey and white, raptor with black shoulders and red eyes. Their primary call is a clear whistle, uttered in flight and while hovering.
These guys are so photogenic. I saw a series of photos showing their mating interactions in flight, if I can find the link i'll send post it on one of your photos. Another excellent in flight shot. Cheers!
