Today this is one rare photo I think, where two different species of dragonflies are together. maybe because of Friendship day :-)
the lower one is called Common Clubtail (Ictinogomphus rapax), t is one of 27 Indian Peninsular Clubtail dragonflies ( easy to identify due to the bulge at the end of its tail. ) The bright yellow markings and its large size makes it easy to spot. ClubTails inhabit diverse aquatic habitats and many of them breed in streams and rivers.
The upper one is called Yellow-tailed Ashy Skimmer (Potamarcha congener) which is A medium-sized dragonfly. Face is Olivaceous yellow to steel black or brown in colour. Wings are Transparent with brown tips. Thorax is Bluish black, Abdomen is Blue-black in colour with yellow stripes.
