Living between Paris and the countryside, love taking pictures, a lot of pictures...
Publish different ones from this project on my blog.

I like the big view you get with a smaller lens for getting an overall feel of a location. But I'm like you...I tend to favor the closer shots. They just seem to have more personality. This, however, is a lovely view of the cathedral with the Seine in the foreground.
My jealousy that you get to shoot in Paris all the time, I like this shot very much with all the lines moving in the scene. I've been shooting with an 11-16mm the last week and it is very challenging--a whole different discipline. I have seen a lot of nice photos with very wide angle lenses that place an object very close in the foreground and then allows background fill in--think I've actually seen just that kind of photo of the plaza at the Lourve with the pyramid in the background. Just some thoughts. Good luck with the lens. Hope you really enjoy it.
I like the ic and the very special perspective it gives, but it's difficult to use sometimes. I'm like you, it's more natural for me to use a longer focal length
@bonniebouman yes! but i didn't use it, at the end of the day i had the tripod in one hand, the camera in the other one and i was just taking pictures, trying to avoid cars, that the only thing i could do!
