Tiddly Om Prom Prom by pasttheirprime

Tiddly Om Prom Prom

Another depature from panoramic landscapes this week. My daughters are at A-level and GCSE stages, and as such they both have end of year Proms to attend in June. Although mostly found in tracksuits/leggings and sweatshirts, they do both scrub up quite well when the occasion calls for it - This occasion calls for posh frocks, hence the setting for today's shot.

Although this looks like a swanky designer outlet, it's actually the upper floor of our local Oxfam charity shop, where "worn once" glad rags are found in abundance. Not many people seem to know this treasure trove is there, hidden in plain sight as it is.

We pre-booked and had the place to ourselves for an hour, and the nice sales assistant was happy for me to take a few shots while I was waiting. Occasionally the changing room cutains were flung back with a "Ta-Daaaa!".

Much fun had. :)

Better on black, if you would!

Thanks for looking
Stu
Love the backstory and the idea of those lovely worn-once gowns making another girl smile.

Gowns with a personal history are the best. Hope your girls enjoy and have a great time trying on and wearing them. Does really snap well on black.

I have seen some places here with the same idea. Hope your daughters found something beautiful.

Well done you. I have to say, I started off thinking , 'what, ... you take your daughters to a posh shop like this for school prom?' Then as I read on, I was very impressed. I had no idea that this existed at Oxfam. What a fantastic idea, and I really hope they both found something. Super image too.

This image has a vintage timelessness about it.
