Beyond the Fence by pasttheirprime

Beyond the Fence

We've taken to extending our dog walks some weekends, and today was no exception. Beyond our usual woods there's another section, and we followed the main path for quite some time, encountering very few other walkers.

In the spirit of intrepid explorers, we dropped off the main path and followed a much smaller one - barely larger than an animal track in places and quite steep to boot. Suddenly we found ourselves at some stock fencing - the boundary of a farm building way down below in a beautiful bowl of rolling hills. Sadly, the photo doesn't do it justice in terms of depth.

This is a hand-held, three layer composite pano, comprising 28 shots prior to cropping & tidy up. Mid way through, Mrs D called "Buzzard!". Apparently it swooped through the shot below the horizon, but I confess I didn't clock it myself and certainly can't find it in this image!

Since moving house I have mislaid my 80-200 Minolta f2.8 G lens. This in itself is no mean feat, as it's pretty large and weighs a ton! I need to find it and try to capture some of the local wildlife. Buzzards, Deer and even Tawny Owls are relatively commonly spotted in this area, and tragically I normally find myself armed with a landscape lens...

Thanks for looking, as ever
Stu

Sounds like lot of work stitching this together but the final image is worth it. (Easy for me to say, I guess, since I didn’t do the work. LOL)
