Abbey Orchard Gateway

Not too happy with this shot - I wasn't "feeling it", but hey - we all get days like that...

It was a typically grey November day, and I've probably over-processed this image in an attempt to make it look like it did in reality (dynamic range, eh?)

On the other side of this rather splendid old set of forged gates is a small orchard, with a farmhouse in the distance - it's all part of the Milton Abbey Estate and this entrance is tucked away on a small footpath far from the beaten track.

This weekend the weather has mostly been sideways in Dorset, to the point that I deliberately left the camera at home and Mrs D and I soldiered on resolutely - hence this is a revisit of last weekend's pickings. Our return home has mostly centered around toweling off the hound, peeling off layers of soaked clothing and getting a brew on...

Time to knuckle down for winter.

Far better on black, if you can be bothered!!

Thanks, as always, for looking

Stu

My first thought was The Addams Family. Now I have that tune in my head! An atmospheric shot.

Oh yes we have days when the pictures don't work and our mojo flags. It'll come back

I love the lacy look of the gates here. Rather amazing that forged iron can look so beautifully delicate.

On black, this sings or perhaps cackles. Your mojo seems to be just fine.
