Emma-Grace by paul10

Emma-Grace

It was a horrible photography day today; dull and very wet and very uninspiring. After wondering what to shoot I finally decided to grab my flash gun and after persuading Emma-G to pose for me I wrapped a piece of black card around the flash to create a makeshift snoot to try and control the light a little better and fired off a few shots. This was the best one and took some getting too as Em's was tired after a long day at school. She's my little star, my poser on demand :)
Very nice capture. She is lovely

What a sweet image, she reminds me of the Virgin Mary. Great processing.

She looks so sweet. I thought the same as Jodie. @jodies
This brought back a memory of when my daughter was at primary school many many years ago and she was Mary in the nativity play at her school. Unfortunately, a few days before her 'big performance' she fell over in the playground and ended up with a black eye. There were a few chuckles during the nativity play when Mary appeared on stage complete with black eye.

Like Jodie @jodies , the first thing I thought of was how much Emma-Grace looked like a Madonna. You can see how tired she is, and that really adds a touch of realism to this shot.

@zeynab1992 Thank you, she is lovely . . . sometimes ;)
@jodies Thank you. I thought that when I looked back at the image. What was I thinking :0
@onewing Oh dear. A black eyed Virgin Mary, that's not good. But at least people saw the funny side :) Thank you for commenting :)
@farmreporter When I first read your comment I thought it read' like Madonna not like a Madonna'. Glad I re-read it :) Thank you for commenting again :)

Really really good in every way: the light, the composition, the use of space, the pose. Really love this a lot and I am impressed to read about the work you have put in here. There´s something about the sepia that does not work for me - maybe it´s me, I haven´t been able to use sepia in any of my pics for ages now, there´s just something that is not working for me in sepia and I use to use it a lot in my pics so maybe I got bored in sepia or something. Anyway I think this would look really super in b/w. So I am curious to know did you try this in b/w and what made you choose sepia?

Oh my lord this looks so biblical. How lucky are you to have such an accommodating and accomplished model . Those eyes are magic. fav

@susale Thank Suse, I appreciate your feedback here. I did try the image in b&w and then added the sepia, which was a mistake because when I went back to b&w I kept seeing the image as a cooler blue which I really didn't like even though I knew the image was b&w and not blue in any way. Hence the reason I stuck with the sepia tone :)
