My eldest, Jan-Hendrik, moved today to Burgersfort - (360km / 224 miles) from Pretoria. He got a good work offer and his girlfriend also got a job at a lodge in the town. This move happened within 4 days! We are going to miss him!!
Yes you will miss them Paula, but how exciting for them. Two of my 3 kids, live really far away from me, but they are so happy. I am happy for them too.
Wish your son and his friend the vey best in their new career paths, and yes you will miss them a lot, but now you can look forward to hearing from them, and or occasional visits! nice portrait of this young man!
I can sure understand missing him. I dread the day my son moves out but know he wants to in time. So glad your son has someone to be with where he will live. It's a part of becoming a man. Our boy is 16 and he's decided to leave us here in the UK to return to SA. My wife is understandably upset. But it is his choice and, for good or bad, we learn from our decisions. The love doesn't leave with them.
