Wood Carving

Wood carving of the Virgin Mary stands in the grounds of St Mary's RC Church in Bamber Bridge,
I understand it was carved from part of the tree that had to be felled and stands on its stump,

Very appropriate to have it made from part of the removed tree. Nice.

Beautiful shot and looks really good in b&w. Good to hear it was carved from the tree which was on that spot.

Thanks Babs the tree was cut down because it grow very large and was to close to the church, nice to see that they used some of it:)

Nicecarving although it is always sad to see trees cut down for whatever reason
