@onewing Thank you Babs, as you can see the cathedral is still well maintain hence some scaffolding on the left, considering the first stone was laid in 1088 almost one thousand years ago it still looks magnificent:)
@peterlgrave Thanks for your comment and Fav. Peter as always they are both appreciated, not so obvious it stands on a hill and can be seen from miles away:)
@dide Thanks for your comments Dianne, this view was not available to the public until this year as it was unsafe to walk the walls, after two years restoration work its now possible to walk the whole way around the Castle walls, it cost us just under £10 each but this includes many other things including guided tours and to see the original Magna Carta signed by King John on 15th June 1215:)
@novab Thank you for both your comment and Fav they are both appreciated, the Cathedral is 928 years old the castle started as a Roman fort built in 60 AD and William the Conqueror developed it into a castle in 1068, the black and white timber framed building along the bottom left dates from the 16th century and is now used as the tourist information centre, most of the other buildings are over 100 year old:)
@stray_shooter Thank you very much for the lovely comments Ron, I set the camera in manual and meter read then set to suit the readings, and the camera does the rest:)
