Bus Station by pcoulson

Bus Station

The Halifax Bus Station in West Yorkshire, rear exit something a little different in design.
The Sion day school was built here and was opened on the 13th January 1846 the Sion Sunday school was added in 1866
in 1984 the school was dismantled and rebuilt with this frontage incorporated into the then new bus station, another part of the school was rebuilt to form part of the main entrance and ticket office.
A good conversion.

@quietpurplehaze Thank you Haze, I thought it was a great idea would have been a shame to loose this structure:)

Fabulous building. I bet they never thought it would end up as a bus station.

Beautiful architecture and history lesson. It is so nice to see all of these old buildings and hear there history. So much of it has been torn down.

You captured the detail so nicely here. They constructed buildings with such care back then. Very impressive.

@stray_shooter Thanks Ron this one is unusual in the sense it was dismantled stone by stone and rebuilt in a slightly different position in 1984, so much better than demolishing it and throwing the stone into a foundation for a new build:)
