This is the original kitchen from before the 17th century in Bolling Hall Bradford now a museum,
The manor of Bolling (Bollinc) is first mentioned in Domesday Book 1086 the earliest part of this building dates from the 1316,
most of the utensils are from the 18th century but these had changed very little.
Now THAT is an image to warm the heart! How beautiful! How wonderful that it has survived to a time when people can share their photos of it as that wouldn't have happened "back in the 13 hundreds"! Most likely no one would have even considered it something special back then! I'm loving it!
@onewing Thank you for your interesting comment Babs, this was a fireplace for cooking I suspect it was warm all year round, more than could be said for the servant's rooms with no fire places at all :)
@stray_shooter Thanks Ron Yes the trusty A7Rii set at ISO160, f13 for 5 seconds mounted on a tripod, lite by natural light only from a window on the left:)
@rosiekind Thank you Rosie for your comment and Fav, most of the rooms were a bit dark as the shutters were close but all were beautifully maintained:)
@Weezilou Thanks for your interesting comment Louise, the likes of you and I would never have stepped into a place like this unless we were servants I suspect:)
I'd never even considered that, Peter! Wow! Some people feel there's too much disparity these days, but it's not even close to what it was once-upon-a-time!!!
