Cromwell Lock by pcoulson

Cromwell Lock

Capture a family watching a narrowboat passing through Cromwell Lock No20 on the Calder and Hebble Navigation Canal, the canal is suitable for 14-foot-wide (4.3 m) boats, Construction to improve the River Calder and the River Hebble began in 1759, was completed in 1770 and has remained navigable since it was opened.
Great reflections. Your canals and narrowboats are so interesting.

Lovely scene. I must get back into family history and find exactly where my ancestor was a lock keeper.

@pcoulson Thanks Peter I will take you up on that one day, but at the moment I have so many projects on the go that family history has been pushed to the back burner. It's hard work being retired isn't it, too many projects and not enough time.
