No 40

This is the house (grey paintwork) my father-in-law grow up in until he left home to married in 1944. its No 40 Bailgate Lincoln and is located only 300 yards from Lincoln Cathedral.

@quietpurplehaze Thank you Hazel for both your comment and Fav, it has some history, part of a row of cottages built in the 17th century altered internally many times over the years now listed and used as a holiday let:)

How lovely to be able to take a photo of it. A relative of mine has just sent me a photo of the house where my great great great grandfather lived at Cawthorne in the early 1800s. I think it probably looks better now than it did then, it has been restored quite nicely. Maybe I should post a photo of it on 365.

@onewing Sounds like a great idea Babs, I've found out a little more information since posting, it was a single storey row of stone cottages in the 17th century the roof was removed and the second storey was added in the mid 1800's:)
