Two Young Blackbirds

Two young blackbirds grubbing for worms
A nice capture, if they came to the eastern part of the USA they could feast on the Brood X emergence of billions of cicadas. They have been subterranean since 2004 and have surfaced this year looking for a mate. It’s going to be one crazy loud affair on our east coast.

@louannwarren How interesting Lou Ann had to look those ones up never heard of them before, I'm sure they would thrive on them, normally Blackbirds in the UK eat, insects, caterpillars, beetles, earthworms, spiders, snails, berries and seeds so have lots to eat here:)

@Dawn Many thanks Dawn for your comment, although digging up worms they still called out to be fed by the parents:)
